|La Palina - Goldie|
|Cuban style packaging|
The cigar is rolled in the Cuban fashion, like all cigars at El Titan, and is finished with the fan cap. It is blended with only prize Medio Tiempo tobacco, and has Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers with an Ecuadorian binder. To finish it off, the cigar features a gorgeous Ecuadorian Habano wrapper. Medio Tiempo is the top 10% leaves of the tobacco plant, and most notably was branded in the Cohiba Behike. I am a big fan of Medio Tiempo tobacco, and also could really pick up its uniqueness in the Casa Fernandez Miami Reserva and the Behike. The cigar is lovely in hand, and has a lovely coloring to the wrapper. It has a nice light Colorado coloring, and is like dark brown hay. It is very silky and smooth touch and also very firm. There are some veins present in the cigar as well, but that is just more flavoring. The foot of the cigar has lovely aroma of spices, seasoned oak, sugar cane, hay and this fruit characteristic. It has a wonderful cold draw, and I am eager to light up the smoke.
The cigar is smoking cool and wonderful into the second third of the cigar, and like the first third it is a flavor bomb. This is really a complex cigar, there is no doubt about that, and when you have a cigar blended in this vitola, that is going to happen. The flavors of oak, honey, spice and coffee are more dominant in this third, and I am also seeing a rising note in nuts as well. There are still some soft stone fruit notes present as well in this third, but overall there are notes I am probably missing here and there. The cigar is producing concentrated smoke on my palate, and exhaling through my nostrils is showing such greatness. The strength level is remaining at that medium full spot, and though I have ashed my cigar since I lit it up, I am positive it would hold on to the cigar.

I loved this smoke, and loved the vitola that it was offered in. The flavors itself were very complex, and the cigar was blended wonderfully showing some strong, spicy, sweet and soft notes. I think this is a cigar that will definitely be great to smoke now, and will age wonderfully as well. I am going to come back to this cigar in around six months to see where it is, and also in a year to see further aging. Overall, this is another wonderful blend by La Palina, and I love that it is a limited release. While I love regular production cigars, it is great to thrown limited smokes like this at cigar smokers like myself once every now and then. From construction to flavor this cigar was top notch all the way through. I give this smoke 95 points, truly amazing.
