This is a great product. I think it’s phenomenal. And this is a great idea, especially if you like to travel and you like taking cigars with you. They have different sized bags, just take one off and they have built-in humidification. I think that’s phenomenal. Typically what I do when I travel is I’ll take a Ziploc bag. I’ll throw a little humid pack in there and then I use my little travel Humidor when I go out and I keep my cigars in here when I’m going out to smoke because pulling cigars out of a Ziploc bag is not a good look. You’re spending all this money on cigars. You want something nice, but these are nice travel companions and they have different sizes. You can store more cigars the bigger you go and the two smaller ones in the front are good for a year. Then you have the bigger bag in the back. And from what I was told, this is good for about six months. But if you are traveling to someplace, you have this huge bag, you can stock up with cigars. You go out and about. Like I said personally, I take my little travel Humidor with me. I’ll load this up. But you take this with you and then that way you can store all your cigars at one time and you know they’re properly humidified. So when you do want to take them out, you want to throw them in your little travel humidor. This is a bag that you can use. I think these things are great and I wish I would have thought of this instead of that goofy ziplock bag that I would use. I throw it in my luggage and I break out the cigars and with smoke for the day, put them in my travel humidor. And then I’m good to go. But with something like this, I wouldn’t be so embarrassed breaking it out. At least it looks, I would say acceptable. You got that clear bag. This has a little tent to it so it won’t degrade the cigars through sunlight, which is nice. It nice little accessory. Next time I go on a vacation, I am going to pick one of these up to go along with me and go from there, even though it does say one year. But from what I was told, the bigger bag is only good for six months.
Do boveda humidor bags work?
Humidors come in many different types and sizes, each designed to accommodate different styles of cigars. Some humidors are small and portable, making them ideal for travel or keeping a few cigars on hand at home. Others are large and extremely durable, designed to keep hundreds of cigars fresh and ready to smoke for long periods of time. One of the most popular ways to keep cigars fresh is with boveda bags, which are high-quality humidification packs that use advanced humidity control technology to keep your cigars in perfect condition. These bags are easy to use and require very little maintenance or upkeep, making them an ideal choice for both novice smokers and experienced cigar aficionados alike. So if you’re looking for a simple, effective way to keep your cigars fresh and ready to smoke, a boveda bag is definitely worth considering.
How to use a boveda bag?
The company has three sizes for the one-year humidor bag. They have small, medium, and large. Now the small bag is easy to open, but the medium and large are a little tricky. The medium and the large humidor bag are identical in construction. So opening them is going to be the same. To start, slide the plastic zipper open and grab both sides of the bag. You’re going to notice there’s an additional heat seal. You’re going to want to apply firm pressure and pull the opening of the bag firmly to pop that heat seal. You’re going to feel like you’re breaking the bag, but you’re not. Once you get the bag open if any of the remaining heat seals are still pressed together, simply run your finger up and down to separate the heat seal. You now have opened your one-year humidor bag and can simply start placing cigars inside.
Why is it called Boveda One-Year Humidor Bag?
Now let’s talk about the name, although it is called the Boveda One-Year Humidor Bag, it doesn’t mean the bag will only last a year. The Boveda inside is going to last you about a year and you can replace it with the size 60 or size 8, depending upon the size of the bag. And you’ll know when to replace the Boveda because it will start to crystallize. Now that you have your humidor bag open, let’s talk about the main ways you can use it. I love using it for extra storage, if I buy a box of cigars or I’m traveling, or simply if I’m seasoning my humidor, I can place the whole box of cigars or all my cigars in my humidor, inside the Boveda Humidor Bag. If I’m traveling with cigars, I often grab the medium humidor bag and place this inside my backpack, or if I’m just going out for the night, I grab the small humidor bag and place it in my coat pocket. Another common use is if you’re reviving dry cigars, or if you’re simply acclimating cigars that you’ve gotten from an online sale. You place the cigars inside the humidor bag and you can let them sit for four to six weeks and they will acclimate to 69%. Last but not least, the Boveda One-Year Humidor Bag makes a great first humidor because it’s inexpensive, simple to use, and has little to no maintenance. And if you’re gifting cigars, why not allow them to enjoy those cigars whenever they want and not sacrifice on quality? The Boveda One-Year Humidor Bag is going to keep those cigars fresh for a whole year. Simple and easy!
FAQ Cigar Boveda Humidor Bag Review
How do Boveda packs maintain the proper humidity level for a cigar humidor, especially when using products like the Boveda one year humidor bag?
Boveda packs utilize a 2-way humidity control system, which means they can either release or absorb moisture to maintain the desired relative humidity (RH) level within the airtight environment of products like the Boveda one year humidor bag. This technology ensures that cigars are stored at the proper humidity, preserving the oils and sugars that are critical to their flavor and longevity.
Why are Boveda humidor bags, preloaded with a 69 RH Boveda packet, considered an effective way to store your cigars, especially for durations like 1 year?
Boveda humidor bags are effective because they create an airtight, controlled environment for your cigars. The included 69 RH Boveda packet ensures cigars are kept at optimal humidity levels. These bags are designed to maintain the right moisture level for up to 1 year, making them perfect for long-term storage or travel. Plus, they’re reusable, offering a convenient and reliable storage solution.
In what ways do travel humidors differ from a traditional desktop or cabinet humidor, and why might a cigar enthusiast need both?
Travel humidors are designed for mobility and typically have a hard, airtight case to protect your cigars during transit, perfect for travel or storing a small amount of cigarettes. Traditional humidors are often larger and meant for stationary use, holding a more substantial cigar collection. Having both allows for versatile cigar storage and ensures optimal conditions are maintained wherever you go.
What makes the Boveda one year humidor bag an efficient choice for storing 5 cigarettes or more, and how does it compare to other cigar accessories for storage?
The Boveda one year humidor bag is efficient due to its airtight nature and the inclusion of a 2-way humidity control pack, which maintains the proper RH levels for up to a full year. It’s more convenient and portable than many traditional humidors, can store your cigars without the need for additional accessories, and is perfect for travel or as a second humidor for extra cigars.
How can a hygrometer be used in conjunction with products like the Boveda one year humidor bag to ensure cigars not included in the original batch also maintain proper humidity?
A hygrometer is an essential tool for monitoring RH levels inside any cigar storage solution, including the Boveda one year humidor bag. Even though the bag comes preloaded with a Boveda pack, adding extra cigars might alter internal humidity. By checking the hygrometer regularly, you can ensure all cigars, even those added later, are kept at the ideal moisture level.
Why is it important for cigar humidors to be airtight, especially when using 2-way humidification solutions like RH Boveda packs?

A Boveda one year humidor bag serves as a versatile, space-efficient, and cost-effective solution for expanding cigar collections. It maintains the proper RH for a full year with minimal maintenance, can be used for travel, and is an excellent short-term option for overflow from a traditional humidor.
