Woodronic LED Humidor Leonids A5046 Review

Woodronic LED Humidor
The black version

Woodronic is a great example of how to make humidors and how to sell them. All their products are finished with cedar wood, have a 1 year warranty and if you don’t like something, you just want the product, you just return it and no problems. What’s more, they have a Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification, which means the wood they are using is coming from managed forests or recycled sources.

They have a lot of cube-shaped humidors in their lineup, the Axinite A5045 is especially popular, but today we will take a look at the Leonids A5046 version with LED lighting. Is it worth overpaying $50 to see your cigars in beautiful warm light? That’s what we’ll talk about and make Woodronic LED Humidor review.

Appearance

Woodronic LED Humidor

When you unpack the humidor it does not look very presentable, usually it has a lot of film and dust on it after transportation, but after cleaning with the product for expensive furniture… the humidor becomes a new color! The noble dark red shimmers and gives a sense of security and peace of mind. Its appearance shows that it is a jewel in the room, and it will fit in just about any style, whether it is Venetian or high-tech.

Cedar wood

All the interior is made of cedar wood, everything else is made of other types of wood, which is understandable: it was done to make the product cheaper. But we must be honest: cedarwood is not really necessary in the exterior, we want to keep our cigars as long as possible Capacity Depending on the size of your cigars, this humidor can hold:

  • 18-29 Gauge (Cigarillos, etc.): 350-500 Counts
  • 30-39 Gauge (Pantela, etc.): 200-350 Counts
  • 40-48 Gauge (Corona, Lonsdale, etc.): 150-200 Counts
  • 48-59 Gauge (Robusto, Toro, Churchill, Double Corona, etc.): 100-150 Counts
  • 60-80 Gauge (Giant, “Fat”): 30-50 Counts

On average this humidor can hold 150 cigars, enough for an initial collection.

Door

The door is transparent, thanks to the quality acrylic material, and I had no problems with air flowing through the cracks: It holds the humidity very well with two 320-gram Boveda Packs 65%. The magnetic lock performs its function 100%: it holds the door firmly and does not let it swing open arbitrarily.

Drawers

Woodronic LED HumidorThe humidor has three drawers with transparent acrylic material that not only make it easy to view the cigar collection, but also brings out the beauty of the built-in LED lighting. The drawers feature gold colored metal handles. Each drawer measures 8 1/4″ by 7 1/4″ and 3 1/2″, fit for most electric cigar humidifiers like Cigar Oasis and Humidicup.

LED lighting

Woodronic LED Humidor

A total of 12 spotlights are built in above each drawer area, the light is warm, soft and non-intrusive. Great to highlight the interior finish of the humidor in the evening. Power comes from a rechargeable battery that charges via a micro-usb cord. The on/off button is also on the back. Honestly, at $50, the lighting doesn’t evoke a “wow” effect, it’s just a nice addition. On the other hand, you could have bought 2-3 good cigars for that money, but as an interior decoration this light is more than relevant. The battery lasts for several hours and if you want the light to be on all the time, you can just leave the wire in the charger.

Hygrometer

Woodronic LED Humidor

The Woodronic in this version comes with a digital hygrometer (yay!), which means that the readings will be clear with minimal deviation. No need to change anything, great option and fits well in the interior of the humidor. Humidifiers Two gel humidifiers, great cheap solution, you can put each one on top and bottom drawer separately, but it is better to use Boveda Packs or buy electronic humidifiers.

Humidity values

After a year of use we can say with confidence that the humidor keeps the humidity in and does not let the excess air in. The initial reading was 67.1 % with 2 320gr Boveda Pack 65%, and after 12 months the RH is 67.2%. The result is fantastic, great job Woodronic!

Verdict about Woodronic led humidor

For $250 you get a beautiful cigar humidor cabinet with a digital hygrometer and an average capacity of 150 cigars. The humidor is well made, air tight outside and well circulated inside the drawers: no mold will stagnate. Is it worth paying $50 extra for the light? It seems to me that it is not particularly necessary, but you may have a completely different opinion 🙂
